The PGA Tour golf event Sony Open in Hawaii is part of the FedEx Cup Series will start from 11-17 January 2021. Since 1965 the tournament was played as the Hawaiian Open at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Sony Open in Hawaii is a big charity golf competition in Hawaii. This will be the 23rd year of Sony's title sponsorship in 2021. The PGA TOUR, Sony, and Friends of Hawaii Charities have declared in 2018 the extension of the Sony Open tournament until 2022. This makes the Sony (one of two) the third long-term title sponsor of the tour. The 26-year-old Australian player Cameron Smith has won the 2020 Sony Open tournament in Hawaii. Smith's jackpot prize was $1,188,000, which allowed him to earn more than $10 million on the PGA Tour.
