From 1945 to 2006, the Tucson Open has been a regular game on the PGA Tour for 60 years, often held at the Catalina Stadium that opened in 1961. Tucson hosted the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in nearby Marana for eight years, from 2007 to 2014.

The Cologuard Classic Champions Tour will start from 8-10 March 2024 and will take place at La Paloma Country Club. It features a 78-player field playing for prize money, 2,200,000 US dollars. The winner’s share is $255,000 and 255 Charles Schwab Cup points. The three-day event includes a no-cut format (Friday-Sunday) where players participate in pro-am competitions on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the pandemic, Tucson’s PGA Tour Champions and Cologuard Classic announced to decrease in the audience in 2021.
