The CJ CUP Byron Nelson PGA Tour tournament will be back at New Home in McKinney after a one-year break, in 2022 the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the outgoing game chairman John Jenkins, the organizers of the tournament, after receiving suggestions from McKinney City, Collin County, and health officials, proposed 10,000 people a day to the PGA Tour order by Governor Greg Abbott.  A recent order has relaxed statewide restrictions. The tour was recommended last week.

This competition signed a five-year agreement with TPC Craig Ranch. After 35 years of playing in the four seasons of Irving’s TPC, in 2018 and 2019 Nelson moved to the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas but was troubled by the small number of participants.
